Description

The 2nd Chest Wall Injury Course Gottingen features a highly collaborative and cutting-edge two-day exploration of current operative, and non-operative, approaches to chest wall trauma. This course will include expert faculty from Germany and the United States. Participants will have opportunities for didactic learning and hands-on cadaveric lab skills training stations for a comprehensive experience.

The aims of this course are to optimize patient selection, understand indications/contraindications, recognize optimal incision locations, and discuss current literature to identify the most updated research. The technical skills learned will include chest wall injury surgical procedures, as well as emergency procedures - including lateral thoracotomy, clamshell thoracotomy, aorta clamping, hilus clamping, atypical lung resection, suture of the pericard with pericard patch.
